    EICR and inspection FAQs

How much does an EICR cost?

An EICR is priced on the size of the property and the number of circuits. You get a fixed price before we book, and any remedial work is quoted separately once you've seen the report.

How long does an electrical inspection take?

A typical house takes a few hours; larger properties and commercial premises take longer. The power goes off for short periods while each circuit is tested.

How often do I need an EICR?

Owner-occupied homes at least every 10 years, rented homes every 5 years, commercial premises every 5 years and industrial premises every 3, unless the last report recommends sooner.

What do the codes on an EICR mean?

C1 means danger is present and needs immediate action. C2 means potentially dangerous and needs urgent attention. C3 means improvement is recommended. FI means further investigation is needed. Any C1, C2 or FI makes the report unsatisfactory.

    Are you qualified and insured?

Yes. We're a NICEIC approved contractor, BPEC certified and City & Guilds registered, and we carry £5m public liability insurance. Copies of our policies come with any quote on request.
